Special Meet & Greet with Jamie Wooten + World Premiere Details

All are invited to pull up a chair, grab a plate of hors d’oeuvres, and spend an evening with playwright Jamie Wooten, award-winning writer and producer for the classic television series The Golden Girls, this coming Thursday at the Joy Theatre.

Thursday, November 5 at 6:00 p.m.
Meet & Greet with Q&A: An Evening with Playwright Jamie Wooten
Joy Theatre | 202 South Railroad Avenue, Kings Mountain

Jamie is one-third of the celebrated playwriting trio Jones Hope Wooten (“America’s Playwrights”). Their laugh-out-loud comedies featuring strong, vivid roles for women (The Savannah Sipping Society, Christmas Belles, The Red Velvet Cake War, Dearly Beloved, and many others) have become audience favorites across the country.

This is a one-night-only event the evening before the world premiere of their newest comedy. There is no performance of the play on Thursday. This evening is dedicated entirely to conversation, questions, and celebration with the playwright.

Tickets for the Meet & Greet are $75 per person and include heavy hors d’oeuvres and beverages. All proceeds support Kings Mountain Little Theatre. With only one week remaining, we wanted to reach our subscribers directly so you have the chance to join us.

About the World Premiere Show
Whether or not you attend the Meet & Greet, we hope you’ll come experience the brand-new comedy itself.

Mama’s Crazy Christmas Bride Ride
It’s Christmas… and Mama’s finally getting married!
But first, she and her wonderfully dysfunctional family must race from California all the way to Alabama in time for the wedding. What could possibly go wrong? Everything, from a wild Fruitcake Festival and a cranky elf on the verge of a breakdown to squabbling offspring and some very questionable Elvis impersonators.

This shamelessly hilarious Southern-fried yuletide joyride delivers the heart, humor, and holiday spirit audiences have come to love from Jones Hope Wooten. Directed by Nikki Wood, it is the perfect feel-good show for the season, full of memorable characters, nonstop laughs, and just the right amount of family chaos.
