Auditions for Summer Intensive

The Summer Intensive is a jam-packed 4 weeks of instruction in all things theatre. The
application is available for student singer/actors ages 12 - 23 who wish to develop their
theatrical talent.

Auditions Accepted Until April 10, 2025, Potential Callbacks May 16 & 17, 2025.
Rehearsals: May 27 - June 19, 2025
Performances: June 20-22, 2025
Roles potentially available: 10 women, 12 men, 1 girl, 1 boy, various ensemble
Tuition: $400 due upon accepting a role in the production. Tuition is non-refundable.
Director: Holly Mason
Elizabeth "Holly" Mason has been a part of theatre since her high school days many
years ago. She decided then that this was something that she wanted to pursue. So, after
her children were older, she went to UNC Wilmington where she studied directing. She
continued with summer work at UNC-Greensboro and workshops in New York City to
enhance her knowledge of theatre arts.
In 1988 Holly began her teaching career at Wayne Country Day School in Goldsboro,
NC. She directed two plays a year as well as musicals for the community children's theatre
-StageStruck - in the winter and summer. After 17 years there she moved to Gastonia to
teach at Gaston Day School where she stayed for 17 years until retirement in 2022.
While at GDS, the idea of the summer intensive - to give students the opportunity to
create a production in a short amount of time- was born. Holly has also been involved with
Gaston School of the Arts Playhouse since its inception many years ago. So, with over 34
years of experience teaching theatre and 100+ plays and musicals under her direction,
Holly is excited to be working with KMLT for the first time and share her passion for theatre.
Music Director: Betsy Logeman
Betsy Logeman developed a love for Broadway Musicals when she was gifted a CD
box set of the Phantom of the Opera soundtrack as a freshman in college. The appeal of
telling a story - in picture, word, and music - began to grow in her. As a music teacher and
choral director Betsy has often incorporated Musical Theatre selections in her concerts.
Her students eagerly await the title of the next MT piece to learn.
Currently, Betsy serves as the Director of Music at Boyce Memorial ARP Church, the
Director of King's Chorale (a CHEA Singers Choir in Matthews), the Assistant Artistic
Director for Gaston Choral Society, and an accompanist at Gardner Webb University. She
also serves on the board of directors for Gaston Choral Society and Kings Mountain Little
Theatre.
Betsy believes all learning should be fun balanced with developing excellent skills.

The Kids Drama Camp is a jam-packed fun 2 weeks of instruction in all things theatre.
Registration is open for students ages 8 - 13 who wish to develop their theatrical talent.
No theatre experience or audition required!
Registration is Open!
Registrations Accepted Until July 14, 2025 or until all spots are full.
A waiting list will be available.
Camp Dates: July 28 - August 9, 2025
Performances: August 8 & 9, 2025
Tuition: $200
A $100 non-refundable deposit is due at registration. Balance is due by July 14, 2025.
Tuition is non-refundable.
